A gentle caretake of the Ebony Mansion, his home and place of employ. Directed by Bishop Twilight, who is a mysterious and aloof dispenser of instruction into Mr. Hydes world.
Mr. Hyde is a third generation employee of the Bishop. Paying off a long standing debt which is not discussed in the public eye.
Ebony Manor is a spectral location found between realms. Not in the land of the physical and yet not in the aspect of the metaphysical. It is designed to house, and contain those beings and creatures which do not belong in the world of the Mundane. It is not a prison, but a refuge from those who would cause harm to the mysterious beings often brought to the manor for safe keeping.
Mr Hyde is the caretaker of these entities. Gentle by nature and understanding.
His tasks often involve lengthy travel outside of the manor in search of new “residents” and his commission is to return those he comes into contact with back to the manor.
Never underestimate Mr Hydes point of observation, he may seem like a simple being, but his insight and strengths are many. He keeps with him 3 keys. Each on for a different task. One will open a dimensional vortex leading back to the Manor. One will open a vortex to safely carry whom ever passes through back to the last place of safety. And the final key is unknown and comes with the warning to never use, unless told explicitly to do so.
Mr Hyde also is a collector of unique equipment. He often carries a small vial of what appears to be sand, and yet upon agitation of the vial, it glows brightly. He has come by this artifact by collection what he refers to as “fairy dust” from key members of the Manor Residents.
Hugo has an infatuation with keys but with good reason. Every key opens into the unknown or forbidden. When Hugo took over the responsibilities of the ebony manor from his father he was presented the keys. He remembers watching his father with the keys. How his father watched over, protected and even respected the keys. Most of the keys are for guest and resident's rooms as well as various other rooms in and around the manor's grounds. There are the special keys known as the colored keys. Red- opens any door directly into ebony manor. White- opens any door into a vortex that will take Hugo and any friends to the last place of safety. Red- this key is an enigma. It is never to be used. Only the bishop knows what happens if it is used. Hugo values and protects these keys with his life. If any key is attempted to be stolen it will leave a brand that looks like a key permanently on the thief's palm.
Beast is the guard dog of the ebony manor and also the grounds. He is an Irish wolf hound that came to the manor as a pup when Hugo was 7. He grew into an adult dog but stopped aging do to the location of the manor.
Lore is what is commonly referred to as a slender man. His clan was here before light touched the earth. The only thing the slender man think of is capturing and devouring life sources. Lore was a cast out, for lore felt compassion. His clan turned on him, wanting to rip him apart but before that could happen Bishop Twilight saved him and took him to reside in the ebony manor. He is a faithful worker assisting Hugo with overseeing the residents and guest of the manor. He is an impressive being. He stands 10 feet in height. He has tentacles that look like some kind of wood coming out of his back as needed. He has unbelievable strength and almost all guest and residents respect if not fear him. Though he has no features including a mouth he can communicate with Hugo effortlessly.
Mother Mary Mercy
Mother Mary is as much of an enigma as the Manson itself. No one knows when she actually arrived or how long ago it was. She is responsible for teaching and giving guidance to the guest and residents of the manor. She was responsible for both Ares and hugo's teaching of latin, prayers and blessings used in their everyday experiences. When she isn't in her classroom she is faithfully in the chapel of Our Lady of Merciful Sorrows praying. She is very much human but commands great respect. Though she speaks in almost a whisper every word is heard and understood and sounds like a voice telling in your ear. One final fun fact about Mary is when she comes down any hallway everyone lines up against the wall facing the wall including Lore.
Bree is what the Irish refer to as a banshee. She's a permanent guest of ebony manor and has decided to use her love of books and her talent for story telling and record keeping for the benefit of the bishop and the manor. She's the librarian and record keeper of all things Ebony Manor included guest and residents. She's a sweet lass but don't cross her. She can become quite scary quite quickly.
